MVMG, or Machine Vs Machine Gun, from developer Killerstorm Studios, is a 3D shooter for the iPhone. It puts the player in the shoes of Sgt. Jackson, the last remaining soldier left in your squad, and you must fight off wave after wave of unrelenting machines, bent on your destruction. With only your mounted machine gun to fend off the hordes, you must last as long as you can.

Players control their machine gun by tapping and holding on it to fire, and drag their finger around the screen to aim. This simple yet functional control scheme allows players to quickly choose and prioritize targets without fingers getting in the way of the action. While mostly accurate, the gun can feel twitchy and a little too sensitive to control. There is also an icon on the left of the screen players can hold down to activate a shield for protection from attacks, and power ups for your weapon activated by buttons on the right of the screen.

The 3D graphics are quite nice and detailed, with the different enemy types being distinct and easy to identify, and the environments look appropriately dark and moody. The sound is a little dull, as the sound of the gun gets tiresome, and there is no ingame music or option to use your ipod during play.

This is a single player game only with one game mode and no local or online leaderboards. With 8 levels of baddies to blast through, Machine Vs Machine Gun is quite a fun game, and could draw you in for a few hours of robot blasting fun.

MVMG is an adequate 3D shooter with a decent amount of content, only slightly let down by touchy controls and a dull sound scheme, however these issues can be overlooked.
