App Wrap Up (Week Ending 1st February, 2013)

By , on February 1, 2013

Hey hey loyal readers! It's been a while since our last App Wrap Up (well a couple weeks). Appspy has been a little quieter than usual, what with the Australia day long weekend followed by cyclonic weather that severely hampered local internet. Driving through a flooded road was also a frightening and completely stupid experience that I engaged in during this madness. Well, with all that behind us, let's have a look at some interesting game trailers and see if there's anything that might cause you to take the plunge and give one of these games a try.

This is mainly here for novelty factor. As a rhythm game it doesn't look like it offers much that we haven't seen before, but it looks to have a good sense of humour, and the selection of tracks seem decent. Could be that the charm makes this worth a play. The price is kind of hard to justify a purchase however.

This looks to be a reflex testing game with a tiny bit of a strategic element in how you approach the board. It also looks to deliver solid feedback as you tap.

I've watched this a couple times now, and I still don't quite know what's going on, but am intrigued. It has a calmness to it (thanks to the music), and the building and exploring aspect seems engaging. The comments on this trailer on YouTube say that this is a clone of a game called Solar 2 which is not available on the App Store, so for now at least, this is as close to this gaming experience as you're likely to get.

The trailer doesn't really show off much, but it's a massively multiplayer online card game. As long as the rules are decent, and the deck building isn't too focused around monitization, this could be a lot of fun... and yes like the trailer says, the card art is pretty nice.

Obviously inspired by Infinity Blade, but a nice variety of monsters make this look like it could be a blast. I might have been won over by the Beholder.

Well that's it for another installment of the App Wrap Up. Excuse me if i haven't been as detailed in my responses today. Low sleep combined with high stress doesn't make for the most alert of commentary. Until next time, enjoy your gaming all!
