App Wrap Up (Week ending 15th March, 2013)

By , on March 15, 2013

Hey hey readers, and welcome to your favourite regular feature on Appspy, the App Wrap Up! We got a bunch of new trailers for you of games you might have missed but look like they have something interesting to offer. Without further ado, let us begin!

Sling it! (Greg Lobanov)

Not only does this game have a delightful collection of sound effects, but it's a novel use of the flinging mechanic. As long as it's easy to switch between moving around the screen and slingshotting the enemies, this could be a lot of fun.

The trailer really doesn't give you a good idea of what the gameplay entails, but it looks relaxing, and I like how it seems over the course of the game, that the blobs kind of create a mosaic.

Islands Planet (Guillaume ORTEGA & Eric Caginicolau)

A very original looking puzzle game where you have to create islands of the right number of sqaures on a planetoid grid. I imagine this could get quite fiendish.

Atlantis: Pearls of the Deep (Legacy Games)

Combining a match-3 game with a physics puzzler with Peggle, this has solid presentation, and looks like a fun new addition to the genre, offering something just a little bit different.

Orca Paradise (HappyGiant, LLC)

Less a game and more a fully fledged 3D world Orca training and raising simulator, this looks quite fun, especially for younger players, and those who just love Orcas (the developers have also made a Dolphin version as well).

And that's it for another installment. Apologies if the comments seemed more curt than normal. I am not in the best frame of mind today, but I made sure to share some interesting game trailers with you all, and by golly that's just what happened! As always, if you've played any of these titles or decide to try one out based on the videos here, let us know what you think in the comments. Till next week, happy gaming all!
