Description

sMaily (Smiley Mail) is the application if you want to send picture greeting cards, valentine or love greetings, birthday greetings and any other wishes that should be graphically enhanced. It lets you create enhanced email picture post cards which can be enriched with icons, smilies and other emoticons. It also gives you the ability to store cards as templates.

After a message has been written it can be send by pressing the send button. The email then is automatically being handed over to Apples build in Email Application for sending. Furthermore a copy of the card is being stored in the saved card folder for later re-usage. Future versions of sMaily will let you choose if you want to automatically store then or not. When creating an email you can save it at any time within the saved cards folder and continue writing later.

Within the main menu you can either choose to create a new card or open the saved cards folder. To add an icon within the card view place the cursor where the icon shall be inserted and touch the icon button to make the icon view appear. Now you can select the icon that you want to be inserted at the previous cursor position. (drag and drop is currently not yet technically possible due to some restrictions but we are looking to work around to even more enhance the usability of the application)

When the icon view is being displayed you can access more icons by swiping left and right over the icon view. The icon view can be hided again by touching "icons" again or by swipping down your finger on the icon view.

Note: This is the first release version. Additional features and icons are to come with future updates. Version 1.0 comes with 178 different icons.

Important Information: sMaily currently works BEST with Apple devices (such as iPod touch, iPhone, general OS x Leopard and Tiger devices) as receiver. On windows IE and thus outlook doesn't support the icon view yet (since outlook uses IE to display content). Alternatively Mozilla Firefox or Opera can be used on windows devices to properly display the email content in Web browsers. Also the Beta of IE8 also displays icons within web based email browsers. Please check back in the future if might have managed to work around this problem.

Additional Note: sometimes it might be necessary to either enter a letter (just tab space) after an image or scrolling the view before it becomes displayed.

Important: currently version 1.5 has a problem in relation with OS 3.x. This is fixed in version 1.51 which already is at Apple for review
