Description

Preparing for your cosmetology written exam? Over half of the states administer an exam prepared by the NIC®, or National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology (please see the list, provided below). While most cosmetologists study from one textbook, the NIC® use seven textbooks as reference material for their exam.

These textbooks are produced by three publishers: Salon Fundamentals™, CLiC International®, and Milady®. While they cover a lot of similar territory, they are by no means identical. Some are much more expansive on certain subjects, and terminology can vary.

In writing questions for our app, we put ourselves in the shoes of those preparing the exam. Using the NIC® Candidate Information Bulletin as a guide (available at: www.nictesting.org) we combed through the seven textbooks they list as resources as well as the NIC documentation to make sure the exam preparation we provide is as thorough and pertinent as possible.

This app - Mastering Cosmetology Set 2 - includes 500 questions, as does Mastering Cosmetology Set 1. Mastering Cosmetology Complete includes the 1000 questions found in Sets 1 and 2 PLUS an additional 200 questions.

We randomize questions, and for each question we randomize the answers so you can be sure you’re learning the subject matter and not just recalling patterns. Many of the questions include notes that explain the answer or discuss differences between the publishers regarding the subject matter.

We created this app with the aim that students who used it would be able to approach their theory exam feeling confident and prepared. We believe Mastering Cosmetology is the best study aid available to help reach this goal.

Best of luck on your exams!
