Why Plan Ahead?

A trip to WDW is magical and altogether too short. Because of this, planning ahead assures you that you do not miss out on a single point of interest.

The problem is, a trip to WDW is also dynamic -- you never know exactly what the wait times will be like, or how long it will take to get between parks, or what deviations from your original plan you will make.

This is where Magic Planner WDW comes to the rescue! With Magic Planner WDW you can set up a rough outline of the attractions/events you would like to attend, then refine this outline as family members weigh in on the priority of the things you would like to do. When you are at the parks, you can mark events as complete, access "live" ride wait times, rearrange events to fit your changing priorities and keep an up-to-the-minute itinerary with you at all times. Try that with a printed itinerary!

There are plenty of solutions that only offer "live" wait time updates, but none of them seamlessly integrate "live" wait times with the level of scheduling flexibility and on-the-go revisions that Magic Planner WDW does.


Setting Up A Trip

Magic Planner WDW will provide you with a wealth of information associated with the dates of your trip: anticipated crowd levels; average temperatures; chance of precipitation; park attendance guidance (which parks to seek out and which parks you might wish to avoid); special events occurring during your stay; restaurant menus and prices; and an estimated price teir for resort rooms.

Tap an item to add it to your itinerary. You can select which day to schedule the item for, the approximate time when you would like to attend the item, a priority for that item and additional notes/reminders. If you don't yet know which day or time you have in mind, you can select "None" or "Floating." This adds the item to your itinerary as a "floating" event. When your plans start to become more concrete, you can take these floating events and move them to the day/time of your choosing.

If you've scheduled an event for a particular date/time, don't feel like you've locked yourself in -- you can rearrange events at any time, moving them to a different time by drag-and-drop, or an entirely different day with a single tap.


Collaborative Planning

Trip itineraries are almost never made in a vacuum. You can email your trip plans at any time to family members and/or friends to receive their feedback and suggestions. The emailed version is an easy-to-read, day-by-day breakdown of everything in your trip. You can even print this emailed version as a hard copy for reference when you get to the parks.

If the person you've emailed your trip to also has Magic Planner WDW, they can open the trip in the program, make adjustments to it and then send it back to you for true collaborative planning!


Always Up-To-Date

Magic Planner WDW contains a lot of information on the parks -- opening/closing times, extra magic hours, show times, ride closures, etc. If you have Internet access, Magic Planner WDW will try to contact our servers to receive updated information once a day. If the program fails to connect to our servers your use of Magic Planner WDW will not be negatively affected -- all the previously retrieved data will continue to be available.

New Features in Magic Planner WDW 2

- No More Delays - all data loading has been moved into the background, allowing you to start using Magic Planner WDW immediately. As an added benefit, should updated information be available, it will be loaded without ever interrupting you -- you will never see the "Processing data" screen again.
- Data In the Cloud - all your Trips are now stored in iCloud (as long as you have signed up for this free service from Apple). It is highly recommended that you take advantage of this. Not only does it provide added security against Trip loss, it allows you to seemlessly manage your Trips across all of your iOS devices. For example, you can set up your Trip on your iPad, then leave the iPad back in your room and refer to your itinerary on your iPhone. As you complete events and return to your room, everything you did while in the parks will be instantly available on your iPad.
- Easier Navigation - your itinerary now appears as pages in a book, allowing you to swipe through them quickly and easily. This is especially nice on the iPad, where, in "landscape" orientation, you can see two days side-by-side.
- Duplicate Trips - have you ever completed a Trip and then, when starting to plan your next Trip, wanted to use the previous Trip as a starting point? You could always do this, by changing the past Trip's dates, but that would replace the past Trip and leave you having to mark all the events from the Trip "incomplete." Now you can simply "long press" on a Trip (touch and hold on a Trip's row) and a "Copy" menu will appear. Select this and the Trip will be duplicated, its dates changed to the current day and all the events in the Trip will be marked as "incomplete." This is a great and easy way to start a new Trip without starting from scratch.
- FastPass Toggle - if you are setting up an attraction event and that attraction accepts FastPass, instead of a button that adds a "get fastpass" note to the event, you will see a "Get FastPass" toggle. Flip this to "On" and the program will record your choice. This frees up the notes field for other information and lends itself to the next new feature.
- Reminders - if you've flipped the "Get FastPass" toggle for an attraction and then mark the event as complete, you will be presented with a chance to create a Reminder to remind you to return to the attraction at your alloted FastPass time. This makes use of iOS's Reminders App, so when you create a Reminder, your device will alert you when the Reminder time arrives, even if Magic Planner WDW isn't running.
- Better language support - while the program itself is still only in English (sorry about that), storing notes in languages other than English should not cause Trips to fail to load.
