Description

Also check-out my other app Ephemeris Sky. It's basically the same as Planet Tracker except it runs on all devices (iPads/iPhones, etc.).

Planet Tracker is a unique application that calculates realtime planetary positions for the planets in our solar system, demonstrating the incredible computing power of the iPad.

Planet Tracker computes the following realtime values for each of the planets...

Current Altitude
Current Azimuth
Planet Rise Time
Planet Set Time
Rise Azimuth
Set Azimuth
Culmination

Distance from Sun
Distance from Earth
Orbital Velocity

Ecliptic Longitude
Ecliptic Latitude
Heliocentric Longitude
Heliocentric Latitude
Distance (angular) from Perihelion
Distance (angular) from Aphelion
Planet's Declination
Planet's Right Ascension

Planet Phase
Apparent Magnitude
Angular Diameter
Axial Tilt To Orbit

The following clocks are also included…

Local Civil Time (LCT)
Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)
Local Sidereal Time (LST)
Greenwich Sidereal Time (GST)
Julian Day Number (JDN)

In addition to all the above, Planet Tracker allows you to view the planet positions graphically in a 2D representation. This lets you not only see the orientation of the planets in our solar system, but it allows you to quickly see which planets are in position for optimal viewing.

You can get help by tapping on a item. Most items have a red/green arrow next to it. These arrows indicate whether the value is increasing (green) or decreasing (red).
