Cut & loop is an audio player that makes it easier to use the sound sources that come with many language learning materials.

Ad-free and background playback can be used up to a certain playback time.

In January 2022, for the first time in about three years, we made major changes to improve the usability and quality of the audio player.
Many features are also available for free (with some ads).

This is a useful app for many language learners, so please give it a try.

■Features of cut & loop

1. Automatically split the imported sound source into phrases.

Automatically split the sound source in your iPhone into phrases.
You can also manually adjust the range of phrases and save them.

Target sound sources
- Sound sources such as albums in your media library
- Podcasts that you have downloaded.
- Files in your device or iCloud Drive

2. phrase repeat playback and 0.5~2.5x speed adjustment

You can choose to repeat a phrase a specific number of times, or select infinite loop.
You can easily change the speed from 0.5 to 2.5 times from the playback screen.

3. text display function

Text can be generated from the imported sound source.

Text display ... tap on the "Text" field and tap on the "Transcribe" button to automatically generate text based on the sound source.
This makes it easier for you to access the phrases and words you need.
You can also tap on a word in the displayed text to play the audio from that word. 
This is convenient for those times when you want to listen to just this part of the text.

4. background playback (subscription function)
By subscribing to a subscription, you can play the audio in the background.


5. Easy-to-use UI
The screen has been changed to make it intuitive to use.

6. Importing SRT file.(Experimental feature)
You can import SRT subtitle files.

At the time of initial installation, you can perform ad-free + background playback until a certain playback time is reached. 
After a certain period of time, an advertisement will be displayed and background playback will be disabled.

■Keyboard shortcut keys for playback screen

The playback screen supports keyboard shortcut keys.

- Space: Play/Stop
- Shift+←: Previous phrase
- Shift+→: Next phrase
- s: Speed up playback
- S: Slow down the playback speed
- +: Repeat + 1
- -: Repeat -1
- r: infinite repeat on/off

Now enabled: export of split data and text for a track displayed on the playback screen to a file, and the import of these exported files (iOS 17 and later). 
Useful for transferring data between devices, sharing data, and for backup and restore purposes. 
Access this function from the "More" menu on the playback screen.

Future app updates will include support for exporting and importing at the album or folder level.

■ Recent Updates
- Loading of split phrases and text from SRT files for subtitles is now possible.
- Reader Mode added, allowing the use of iOS features to translate selected text or look up word meanings (available on iOS 16.4 and later).
