Description

This game helps you recognize vowel-consonant segments.

What are vowel-consonant segments? A vowel-consonant segment is a single sound represented by a vowel and a consonant. Some examples of these are: “at” in cat, “an” in pan, “og” in dog, and “ad” in dad. Identifying these segments is a vital tool in decoding words.

This game is a great way for your child to learn vowel-consonant segments. They can play in two ways:

Segment – Your child will be shown 4 vowel-consonant segments and asked to pick one.

Words - Your child will be shown 4 words and asked to pick the ending with a particular vowel-consonant segment.

These modes challenge your child by earning points for each correct answer. If they make 3 mistakes they have to start the level over. Complete all 5 levels to win.

Practice - This mode is great for a child just starting to learn about vowel-consonant segments. It allows them to practice either “Segment” or “Words”. If they pick the wrong answer it will help them learn the correct one.
