Description

This app is designed to use the spoken word and lead the listener on an engaging story-walk around the grounds of Chalkwell Park in Southend-on-Sea as a locative experience. If however, you are not able to travel to this park, then you can enjoy the tales from anywhere in the world using the 'armchair' mode.

The app allows you to choose from 3 very different tours:

The '30 years' tour created by MC Mixy

The 'What's talking to you' tour created by Mark Grist

The 'Young voices poetry' tour created by students from Leigh North Street Junior School, Southend-on-Sea.

Each tour is a selection of points on a map that can be visited in any order and will trigger audio.

This project is commissioned by Metal as part of NetPark, a unique digital art project mapping stories and artist projects onto Chalkwell Park in Southend-on-Sea, UK. NetPark is supported by the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts – Nesta, Arts & Humanities Research Council and public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
