Blockheads are trying to keep the Sugarskulls from delivering their magic ice cream which is the source of all happiness. In order to stop the Blockheads as they appear in the sky in the Dessert Desert, the Sugarskulls throw their removable head at the Blockheads.

Sugarskulls vs Blockheads is a contemporary take on old school breakout arcade games, combining gameplay and a illustrated storybook.

Thinking of games as playable art, artwork in the game is inspired by street art from Los Angeles and Mexico City alongside surrealism and pachuco mambo revival culture. Blockheads are inspired by the work of Frida Kahlo, Henri Matise, Marco Raya, Max Ernst and Salvador Dali.
