Description

This app was ostensibly designed to to aid learners of English to enrich their vocabulary, but also native English speakers may find the app useful in situation where they are lost for words to describe an unknown object.

The app takes an entirely new approach to learning by using the camera of a mobile device to capture an image which in turn is described by the app and its underlying Machine Learning (ML) models. Alternatively, images saved on the 'Photos' app can also be described by the app.

There are two ML models to chose from: one that was trained in categories like trees, animals, food, vehicles, persons etc. and another model that was trained in the singular category of hand and power tools.

The limitations of the app are similar to that of the human eye that may not be able to discern an object of a dark scene with with little contrast. Good lighting conditions and scenes that isolate an object of interest will therefor improve the accuracy of the app.
