The word ‘Eid means to return / to repeat, As ‘Eid comes every year it is called Eid(The day which returns/repeats).Eid Salah is a special prayer to commemorate the end of Ramadan on the day of Eid ul-Fitr or the sacrifice of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) on the day of Eid ul-Adha.

Muslims all around the world perform this salah twice a year.The first day of the Islamic lunar month Shawwaal is Eid ul-Fitr, marking a day of celebaration and thanks to Allah, our Creator and Cherishor.

Imam Shafi Method:
Imâm Shâfi’i holds that there are 12 extra takbeeraat – 7 in the first ra’kah, and 5 in the second. In both of the rak’ât, the takbeeraat are said before the recitation.
Imam Hanafi Method:
Imâm Mâlik and Imâm Hanbal hold that there are 11 extra takbeeraat – 6 only in the first rak’ah and 5 in the second, also said before the recitation.

Most Muslim celebrate Eid for at least 3 days.There is no salah before or after the Eid Salah.There is no Adhan or Iqamah for Eid Salah.There are two sayings regarding ‘Eid:\n1. ‘Eid is not for those who just dressed new clothes, Indeed ‘Eid is for those who has increased his good deeds & obedience towards Allah (swt).\n\n2. ‘Eid id not for those who have just beautified their appearance with their clothes & conveyance, Indeed ‘Eid is for those whose sins has been forgiven.Allah has made two ‘Eid’s for the Muslims, each of them comes after the completion of worships.\n‘Eid Al-Fitr comes after the fastings in the month of Ramazan, ‘Eid Al-Az’ha after the completion of Hajj (pilgrimage) & also Jum’ah (Friday) is also considered as ‘Eid after the completion of weekly prayers.
The prayer of ‘Eid is ordained because the beloved Prophet (pbuh) used to offer this prayer regularly i.e every year.And Imam Shafi’i (rh) said:“Prayer of ‘Eid is urged for those, on whom all the conditions of Jum’ah prayer are fulfilled. It is disliked in the Shari’ah to escape from the ‘Eid prayer.
