The app provides a color ratings based on how safe your current geographic location is. Crime Ratings range from Minimal, to Low, Moderate, Elevated and Severe. The safety rating is a unique algorithm based on the type of crime, the frequency of crimes in the area, how far away the crime occurred and how long ago the crime occurred.

Locally then takes this local crime data and analyzes it in the context of local news reports, local demographic data, and local real estate. When it comes to Local News data there is no better source than Locally News.
