The Germans had quickly overwhelmed France and the Netherlands, leaving Britain to face the threat of invasion by sea.
The German high command knew the difficulties of a maritime attack and its impracticability while the Royal Navy controlled the English Channel and the North Sea. July 16th.
The Tyrant ordered the preparation of Operation Sea Lion as a potential amphibious and aerial assault on the world, to be followed once the Luftwaffe had the air superiority of the enemies.
In September, the nightly raids of the RUF Bomber Command halted the German preparation of the converted barges and the inability of the LuttRaffe to overpower the RUF forced the Dictator to postpone, and eventually canceled the Sea Lion operation. Germany proved unable to support daytime raids, but their continued bombing and attack operations on all countries of the world known as the Blitz.
