Ngmoco Roll Out Updates To Rolando and Rolando 2
In many respects, ngmoco’s platforming puzzler Rolando was the iPhone title that validated Apple’s mobile as a viable gaming platform. Inspired to some extent - certainly aesthetically - by LocoRoco on PSP, Rolando rolled onto iPhone in December 2008, complete with jaunty music supplied by Brit DJ Mr Scruff. Whether seduced by Mikko Walamies’s artwork, THAT infuriatingly catchy soundtrack, or the simple swipe-y control mechanism, players weren’t likely to forget the inhabitants of Rolandoland very quickly once installed. Grasshopper Donate Sales From Frog Minutes To Japan
A couple of weeks ago, we told you about a pair of iOS sites AppsJP.com and iPhoneGamerUK who had come together for the Japanese relief effort. In addition, local gaming giants Capcom and Sega have recently pledged revenue from their iPhone titles to organisations helping to rebuild the afflicted nation. Japanese developer Grasshopper - best known for its GameCube hit Killer 7 and No More Heroes on Wii - have joined their compatriots today in raising funds for victims of the tragedy. Death Rally Coming To iPhone and iPad 31st March
Remedy are entering the iOS top-down racing scene tomorrow with their car combat game Death Rally. Available as a universal app for an undisclosed price, Death Rally will feature five cars (to begin with), six tracks, and a multitude of weapons with which to annihilate your fellow competitors. Remedy have integrated Game Center into their arcade driving experience, though multiplayer match-ups will only arrive via a future update. Having rebuilt his personal and professional life after news of his infidelities broke in late 2009, Tiger Woods furthers the rehabilitation process by launching the next iteration of his popular golfing sim on iOS. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 landed on the App Store green overnight, retailing for $6.99 on iPhone. A HD iPad version should emerge from EA’s rough over the next few days, presumably priced at $9.99.
