It’s cold outside, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a whole bunch of sporting fun from the comfort of your own home. But there are so many football games on the App Store, it’s hard to know which one’s right for you.

But don’t you worry, because we’ve got your back. And in this week’s Tuesday best of we’re going to break down the three football games you need to download on your iPhone or iPad if you like putting your foot through a ball.

Soccer Physics

A wonderfully ridiculous reimagining of the beautiful game. It’s not the most accurate representation, but it will have you rolling around on the floor having a right good giggle. Which is nice.

You’ve only got a couple of buttons to mash, and you’ve only got a couple of players on your team. But that’s not the point. The point is that this is an awful lot of fun.

And if you’ve got friends it’s even better. This is one of the finest same-device multiplayer games on mobile, and you’re going to have a blast trying to out-do each other. And then pushing each other over.

FIFA Mobile

This one sits at the other end of the spectrum to Soccer Physics. While the other is silly, this one is deadly serious in its pursuit of bringing the kickiest of sports to mobile.

It might not have all the features of the console version, which is a shame, but when you actually get to kick the ball you’re going to have an awful lot of fun.

Not one to play if you’re into defending, or playing full seasons, but this is still the smoothest touchscreen football experience you’re likely to have this year.

New Star Soccer

A game that focuses on almost everything involved with being a professional footballer. Basically you’re watching a lot of bars go up and down and trying to keep ontop of all of them.

There’s some flicky kicking as well as drinking energy drinks, sorting out your training, and trying not to upset the rest of team by being a bit of a dick.

It’s enjoyable in a stupidly casual sort of a way, and if you’re the sort of person who gets addicted to things easily, you’re going to get really addicted to this one.
