It's Wednesday, so that means it's time to round up the best games that are on sale on the App Store right now. Because if we didn't do it, who else would? That guy over there? I heartily doubt he'd have the nous.

There are some excellent games for cheap. One that's only just come out, a couple that are reasonably new, and one that is, in my humble opinion, the finest entry into a classic series.

So let's just jump right in and start listing things. Do you have your list helmet on? I hope so, because here we go. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3

There are some really bad Rollercoaster Tycoon games on the App Store. This isn't one of them though. It's a bit fiddly, but it's premium and it does what it says on its digital tin.

If you want to run a theme park from the comfort of your own phone, then this is the game for you. Especially now it's pretty cheap.

Angry Birds Space

In some ways, this is the last great Angry Birds game. It tweaks the formula in all the right ways, and the introduction of gravity is, quite frankly, ingenious.

It looks great, it plays great, and right now you can pick it up for nothing at all. So why don't you stop messing about and go and do that?

This one always seems to be on these lists. But it's really good, so if the price keeps getting cut then I'm gonna keep telling you that you should buy it.

Turn-based side-on strategy set in space. But steam space. Full of robots. Shoot hats off, complete missions, just have a lovely old time. Do it. Do it now.

This one only came out last week, but it's real good. Roll a squirrel around a series of levels collecting nuts and solving puzzles.

I'm pretty sure that's what squirrels do in real life. I've seen them do it, honest I have. Anyway, if you weren't swayed by the recommendation it got last week, maybe the new low price will do it for you.

The Detail

A grim and grimy point and tap crime procedural. And right now you can get all three episodes of it for nothing. Which is, quite frankly, a total steal.

Solve murders, get drenched in downpours, and generally have an awful but delightful time. This is definitely one that's worth checking out, if you like checking out gross and dirty things. Not dirty like that though. Grow up.
