Friday is here. That means when you go to bed tonight, you don't have to get up for work tomorrow. Unless, of course, you do have to get up for work tomorrow. In which case I'm sorry. Maybe lay off the lemon sherberts tonight, eh, otherwise you won't sleep.

Anyway, if you want some mobile entertainment for the weekend, we've got your back. We've got your back in the shape of the five best games that came out on the App Store this week. We are so good to you.

As usual you can click on the emboldened name of the game below to download it. Er, I think that covers everything that you need to know. So, yeah, go about your business.

A smart two-touch platformer that sees you leaping over things and switching the side of the level you're running on. It's not super fresh, but it is super challenging. Definitely worth giving a go if you like suffering.

A game that's all about helping a penguin fulfil its dream of flight. I mean, really, what's not to like about that? Build an icy path for Pengy to move down. If he hits the ground, it's game over. Cute and fun.

Another platformer. This one's about leading a plucky robot through a series of challenging levels. Everyone loves cute robots, right? They're a right giggle. And the game plays pretty darn well too. So that's two good things.

Die With Glory

This one's about a Viking that wants to die with honour and ascend to Valhalla. Except it's nowhere near as dark as that makes it sound. It's kind of a bite-sized series of point and click adventures. It's gorgeous, but a bit fiddly sometimes.

Multiplayer platforming? Where you can be a bear? Sure, why not. There are some nice ideas here, and if you're doing well you're going to enjoy what's going on. It does get a bit grindy, but hey, what doesn't?
