The 5 best games for iPhone and iPad this week - May 5th

By , on May 5, 2017

The week has come to an end. We are all ready to strip off our work skin, slide into our party skins, and rub against each other in a variety of different positions to try and forget that Monday is coming. That Monday is always coming.

But before that happens, let's have a look at the five best games that came out on the App Store this week. After all, we can't end the week without hurling even more excellent content into the void of the internet and hoping it sticks somewhere.

As usual you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to swipe them from iTunes. Right then, let's get this content show on the content road to content town.

Race for the Galaxy

A digital version of a classic board game. This one's all about taking over the galaxy. It's slick, it's smart, and there's a whole bunch of clever ideas swirling about in it. Play with friends or take on the AI. It's entirely up to you.

A Snake's Tale

A game about a snake. A snake that can't touch itself. But it's not that game. It's a clever puzzler with some neat twists that's closer to a sliding block puzzler than anything else. It doesn't shout at you if you get things wrong either.

Her Majesty's Spiffing

A port of a point and click adventure that works pretty darn well on mobile. It's full of British wit, stiff upper lips, and space exploration. It'll make you laugh, it'll make you think, it'll make you make cups of tea. What's not to like about that?

Ever Knight

An endless battler with some neat ideas. It takes a while to get going, but when things start to click you'll find an arcade experience that's unlike anything else you've ever played. And you can play it with just one thumb, which is pretty cool.

Yellow

The latest from Bart Bonte. This one's all about solving a series of puzzles and, in turn, changing the screen yellow. It's got some wicked internal logic, and will probably make you scowl from time to time. It'll be a good scowl though.
