A sleepy start - AppSpy's Sunday Service

By , on October 26, 2014

It's AppSpy's Sunday Service, a short dose of mobile and tablet gaming to kick off your Sunday.

The Big Stories

1. Record of Agarest War Zero is on Android and it's stuffed tight with features.

2. We have exclusive Booster Pack codes for Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf.

3. James really doesn't like Linkin Park, and most games by bands are a bit pants.

4. The man in this trailer has the gruffest voice I've ever heard. It's amazing.

5. Butters from South Park has his very own pinball table and that's obviously fantastic news.

The game that pleasantly surprised the AppSpy team the most this week was Sleep Attack TD.

The tower defence genre is such a well worn path now that it's practically a trench, so the spinning mechanic implemented in Sleep Attack TD - whereby the battlefield can be rotated to give yourself an advantage - is a much appreciated change that keeps things fresh and frantic.

How we're spending our weekends

James: Playing a mobile port of a kart racer that may or may not be announced, he's not sure right now, so he better not say. Also, being a year older.

Peter: The soft-launch version of SimCity BuildIt is out, so I'm giving that a whirl, plus Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms, and housework.

Danny: Hanging out at Comic Con in London, no doubt geeking out over Capcom and Square Enix having a huge presence there.
