Hands-on with Dark Fear, the first person, point and click, retro horror adventure... with RPG elements

By , on December 18, 2014

Dark Fear is exciting stuff, not simply because it's mashing together a whole bunch of different genres.

I mean okay, that's definitely a big part of why Dark Fear has me in a froth. Who wouldn't want to play something that's an almighty blend of Riven, Wizardry, and Home?

But more than that, Dark Fear has this constant atmosphere of tension and a feeling of unease pervading throughout, whether that's through encounters with enemies that you only scrape through or the gloomy and oppressive world which you need to make your way through.

I went hands-on with an early build, here's what the game looks like in motion.
