Cyber Knights: Flashpoint, a cyberpunk turn-based RPG from The Trese Brothers, has already found tremendous success over on Kickstarter, where it has now almost doubled its initial funding goal with 26 days left to go.

It appears to be set in the same universe as the developer's classic Cyber Knights for Android, and it sees you taking on the role of the commander of a team of shadow mercenaries. It's clearly a very ambitious title, boasting turn-based combat, interesting stealth and hacking mechanics, base building, and a narrative and cast that shifts and changes depending on your decisions made throughout.

At its core, Cyber Knights: Flashpoint looks to be an X-COM-like strategy title, though it ditches the usual grid-based system the series is known for, opening up combat encounters and giving you greater control over your team's movement and positioning.

The Kickstarter's initial funding goal was $50,000, which it achieved in no time at all. At the time of writing, it's sitting at just over $91,000, meaning the campaign still has a ways to go before it hits its highest stretch goals.

Everything you need to know about the game and its funding goals can be found over on its Kickstarter page. Cyber Knights: Flashpoint looks very promising, and the team's previous games have all enjoyed much acclaim from both fans and critics. In fact, The Trese Brothers' last title, Star Traders: Frontiers, was Metacritic's highest-rated iOS game of 2019.
