This one is for the UFC fans out there but one of the sport’s biggest stars, Conor McGregor, has now teamed up with strategy game Dystopia: Contest of Heroes for a release on iOS and Android.

It’s developed by Beetroot Labs, who hopes the presence of the UFC star will attract a larger audience to the game. It’s focused on global multiplayer tournaments where players are able to compete for various real life prizes. These matches will be hosted by McGregor himself, with a mixture of daily single and duo tournaments to compete in that will net you various in-game rewards.

But there are also real life prizes, which can be won in an annual tournament that you can qualify for in weekly and monthly challenges. The prizes include signed merchandise, a meeting with McGregor, and other goodies worth up to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Check the video below for more information.

As for the game itself, it’s a “build and battle meets RPG”, set in a cyberpunk future and uses the strategy formula to onboard players easily while preparing them for the higher complexities. You begin as a rebel who establishes a base and has to build an empire by taking over various districts in New York.

You raid other territories which are controlled by real world players, and can collect sci-fi gear and base upgrades to make yourself stronger. There’s also an alliance system where you can team up with hundreds of others to wage wars against other alliances.

If you’re interested in playing the game, or just a fan of UFC and McGregor yourself, it sounds worth a go. You can download Dystopia: Contest of Heroes from the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android. It’s a free to play title and contains in-app purchases.
