Digerati, an indie games publisher, is releasing Grotto later this year for iOS devices. It’s being developed by Brainwash Gang, who will also be releasing the game on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

It’s a fantasy adventure game where you play as the Soothsayer, an odd hermit living in solitude inside the titular grotto. Every so often he is approached by the villagers of a local tribe to read the stars for them and tell them their future.

The fate of these villagers depends on your readings, which you can either scrutinise with careful thought or let the stars enter your mind freely. In the end, the tribe can thrive or die depending on how you interpret the readings.

Brainwash Gang has developed Grotto to use an art style mixing 2D and 3D visuals, bringing the world to life. The Madrid-based developer has also created games like Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition and The Longest Road on Earth.

“Some of us have a genuine interest in divination and have tried different techniques over the years,” says Edu Verzinsky from Brainwash Gang. “We like the idea of people's lives being influenced by something as abstract as the interpretation of the stars. With Grotto, we hope players will become aware that the extraordinary powers of the protagonist comes from their own empathy when deciding on the life of the tribe.”

There will be more information about Grotto will be coming soon, but you can read more about it from the official store page on Steam. The iOS App Store page is not live and we don’t have word on a concrete release date or pricing model yet.
