Punishing: Gray Raven's Frozen Darkness update introduces a co-op boss battle, a new story chapter and Construct

Kuro Game's sci-fi action RPG, Punishing: Gray Raven, has proven popular since it first launched in mid-July, with over one million people downloading the game to give it a shot. To keep those players interested, the game's first update – Frozen Darkness – is now available to all players for free.

The update will introduce a new story chapter, S-Rank Construct and boss battle to the game alongside other bits of content. The newly added boss is an Ascendant called Rosetta. They are extremely powerful, meaning that players will need to team up with others to topples this particular foe.

Meanwhile, a former enemy of the Gray Raven squad called Alpha who is an offensive-type character. She can be unlocked by participating in a limited-time event between 4th August 7:00 am UTC, and 1st September 7:59 am. Aside from adding Alpha to their squad, players will also learn more about her true identity.

Alpha's arrival in the game coincides with two special Coatings that players can currently purchase with a 30% discount. The two coatings are called The Final Journey and Gray Feathers and will be available for less between 4th August and 8th September.

Elsewhere, players who tackle the Arctic Night, Azure Scar, Interlude and new Co-op scenarios will earn numerous black cards, training materials and supplies. They can also collect special currency items that can be exchanged for the likes of character fragments and gifts at the Arctic Shop.

Punishing: Gray Raven is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
