The newest game from THE card game behemoth has recently begun rolling out onto mobile; Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. Based on one of the biggest hitters in anime and card game circles, Master Duel was released last week and took the gaming world by storm. At its peak on video game distribution service Steam, over 260K gamers were playing concurrently, and it had dethroned the massive FPS game Apex Legends to sit number four on its “Most Played Games” list.

For those few not in the know, Yu-Gi-Oh! is a trading card game spin-off from the manga of the same name that started being published in 1998, and massively took off in the Western world with the anime release in the early 2000s. Called “Duel Monsters” in the media universe, the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game was an instant hit and has remained one of the most popular card games in the world.
