Today, video game publisher 505 Games has announced that Puzzle Quest 3 will be launching on 1st March for iOS and Android. A new instalment in the Infinity Plus Two developed puzzle-RPG franchise, PQ3 will modernise the hit series.

The action takes place 500 years after the original Puzzle Quest game. Set in the same land of Etheria, players will take control of heroes to battle a new evil that is threatening the world. The gameplay features a 1-v-1 battle system rendered in a 3D world using a match-three puzzle system. Matching the gems will deal damage and also build up resources that can then be used to unleash special skills and attacks on opponents.

As more battles are won, heroes will gain experience and level up, which increases their power and skills. Loot can also be obtained and equipped to further boost the hero's ferocity in battle.

The CEO and Creative Lead of Infinity Plus Two, Steve Fawkner, said “Over a decade ago, we introduced Puzzle Quest to gamers, innovating a new puzzle RPG hybrid genre, and created a franchise that is still going strong today with millions of players globally.”

Starting today, a pre-registration campaign will begin and allow players to collect rewards ahead of launch by achieving certain milestones. These criteria involve wishlisting the game on Steam, pre-registering on Google Play, following PQ3 on social media and more. Rewards will range from in-game gems, to gold and even powerful gear.
