Nexon Co Ltd has revealed the future release of Mobile Dungeon&Fighter, a new mobile expansion of the Dungeon&Fighter IP. General Direct Myeongjin Yun, along with Heads of Development, Wonman Lee and Sungtae Ok, have announced the game will launch in Korea on March 24th.

Mobile Dungeon&Fighter is slated to be a 2D arcade-style side-scrolling action game, much like its predecessors, and will offer an immersive multiplayer experience along with an in-depth developing storyline. The mobile spin-off promises to deliver the action-packed gameplay players have come to expect from the franchise.

Since its release, Dungeon&Fighter become a titan in the beat 'em up, action RPG world, amassing over 500 million players. Taking influence from such classics as Golden Axe and Double Dragon, Dungeon&Fighter allows players to customise their own characters and then proceed to unleash anime-style hectic hell as one of 14 different classes.

Alongside this announcement, Nexon has also announced a 2022 global release for Kartider: Drift, a free-to-play, cross-platform kart racer that will offer players deep kart and character customization along with arcade-type gameplay featuring zero items. Success will depend entirely upon skill alone, and not some cheeky plumber getting lucky with a blue shell.

In Europe and the western world, Nexon is most likely best known as the developer of Steam's multiplayer first-person shooter Counter-Strike Online, or for publishing the 2D side-scrolling MMORPG Maple Story. The company has recently acquired Embark Studios AB, a Swedish company based in Stockholm, who in turn have already developed ARC Raider, an upcoming third-person shooter that will see a global release in 2022. This is good news for fans of shooters, as Embark Studios was founded by former DICE employees, including Patrick Söderlund who was CEO during the time DICE developed the Battlefield and Star Wars Battlefront games, so the team have shooter pedigree behind them.

Dungeon&Fighter Mobile will release in Korea on the App Store and Google Play. There has been no official announcement by Nexon on a worldwide release of Mobile Dungeon&Fighter as of yet, however, the acquisition of Embark could allude to future global releases so it is possible we may do at some point.
