Today marks the start of pre-registration for Gunfire Studios roguelite FPS RPG hybrid, Gunfire Reborn Mobile. First released on the PC, Gunfire Reborn racked up quite an impressive resume on Steam; 60,000 positive reviews, a 94% positive rating and a Gold Early Access Grad on the Best of 2021 list, this promises to be a powerhouse port for mobile.

Tackling the age-old question of “what would happen if I gave a magic cat a gun”, Gunfire Reborn Mobile takes a host of normally adorable critters, kits them out with weapons and abilities, and then proceeds to watch the world burn. Each available character has its own unique moves. For example, the Crown Prince can fire off Energy Orbs that deals damage and freezes enemies, whereas Ao Bai can dual-wield guns and throw out Explosive Grenades that, as expected, explode at people.

The game is described as a “level-based adventure FPS”, with roguelite qualities. When playing through the level. waves of enemies will swarm and when defeated they will drop random weapons that can be picked up and used. Each playthrough results in different weapons being dropped and new characters being met, adding a fresh feel to each subsequent playthrough. Players can also find and equip scrolls that give characters additional abilities, such as more damage dealt when on full health, or the ability to get free items from the vendor. Being an almighty powerful bird does have some advantages.

As the old saying goes; “The only thing better than one magic dog is two magic dogs”. Gunfire Studios seem to agree, as players can team up together to tackle the world with up to three other players. Whilst teaming up, enemies gain extra health and armour. However, there is also the ability to revive downed players, and the option to share weapons and scrolls between one another to make runs that little bit easier.

Gunfire Reborn Mobile is available to pre-order now on Google Play and the App Store, with an as-yet unannounced release date. Only those in Europe can register right now, with more regions being announced soon.
