NetEase Games has announced the opening of pre-registration for the upcoming sim RPG Vikingard. Taking place in one of the most interesting and exciting cultures in history. Fact. Players will be able to lead their own band of Vikings and go on a journey to become a Viking hero.

The gameplay unfolds from the point of view of the heir of the Fharun Tribe from Scandinavia, who must go on a journey into the wider continental Europe to gather warriors and unite them under their banner. There are many warriors, or hersirs, to be recruited from Viking warriors to majestic Valkyries. These characters can be upgraded in multiple ways, such as level, stats and weapon skills.

As well as finding new warriors to recruit, players can also romance their companions. This is done by throwing various shiny objects at them or taking them on dates. As well as being able to share in these romantic scenes, there is also the possibility to sire heirs who, in true Viking fashion, can then be trained into the next generation of warriors. On top of this, there is also the possibility to adopt various pets who are described as being “adorable as they are deadly”. Because what tribe is complete without an adorable killing machine?

If journeying solo is too daunting there is also the option to join clans with others and take part in the Alliance Clash system to see whose tribe is mightier. After the battle, players can all relax together in the Mead Hall with others from across all servers whilst taking part in Viking-themed mini-games, all of which presumably include violence, drinking, or drinking induced violence.

No official release date has been announced as of yet, however, players can sign up for pre-registration now on Google Play or the App Store.
