The King Of Fighters Allstars’ new update has been released, and with it brings a collaboration with another titan of the fighting genre, Street Fighter. An event that is sure to excite fans of fighting games, and no doubt elicit cries of “it's about damn time”, this is the first time the two monoliths have come together in well over a decade.

This update introduces a new mode called the “Dream match” PvP Event, which allows players to join a match regardless of their fighter's rank, core or buff. There are also specific events for this Collaboration that will offer unique rewards. The Rush Dungeon will grant daily special rewards, which include the Enhancement Hammer, Rubies and even the opportunity to obtain a Street Fighter V Soul Random Box. Guild Raids will also offer themed rewards, with the opportunity to gain the Street Fighter V Guild Raid Random Box. In keeping with the theme, there is a new Street Fighter Battle Card, which grants buffs such as ATK +2%, Active Skill Damage +4.5% and Critical Hit +6%.

Of course, with the collaboration comes the chance to obtain some iconic names from the Street Fighter Franchise. Already released are Luke, Chun-Li and of course poster boy Ryu, with additional fighters planned to come later, including Akuma and M.Bison. Each of these characters come with the Street Fighter V Skill, which increases players' Attack when HP is above 50%, with DMG decreasing by 8% when HP decreases by 10%.

On top of this skill, each of the trio boasts its own special set of skills. Ryu has the effect of increasing the ATK of all Street Fighter V characters by a maximum of 65% when he is a teams leader, with his special skill increasing his own attack and adding a bonus to his penetration skill for 5 seconds. Chun-Li on the other hand buffs the ATK of all Balance fighters by 40% and Critical Rate by 10%, which makes her fairly useful even outside a Street Fighter team.
