Dumpling Design has released its newest game, Mr Traffic, onto iOS. Inspired by Chinese traffic conductors, Mr Traffic follows the fortunes of a music conductor who, thanks to an admin error, has been moved over to conducting traffic, but still finds ways to make music.

The gameplay for this app is incredibly simple in premise, making use of a one-touch control system. Tapping a car will make it go, and the aim is to rack up the highest score possible without having the cars crash into each other, or any of the unexpected and wacky characters who might show up. Making guest appearances are dinosaurs, giant chickens and even Godzilla, because even humongous lizards need to cross the road. Each playthrough is different thanks to the procedurally generated approach, keeping every run feeling fresh and hectic as the number of cars quickly increases, which is a good thing as many games will likely devolve into what songs can be made with the in-game music.

This is a game that does not take itself seriously, adding 1000s of fashion combinations allowing players to prance around in a tutu conducting cars with a fairies wand or a plunger. Big AAA games and saving the universe are all well and good fun, but these silly little games are always enjoyable after a hard day. There is even a Bob Ross ensemble to help gamers unwind even more.

Dumping Design was founded in 2013 by the award-winning arcade game designer Travis Ryan, who worked on such recognisable games as OutRun 2, Sonic and SEGA Allstars and Kinect Sports Series. Also working for the company is Brent Poynton who worked on Viva Pinata, Xbox Avatars and also Kinect Sports.

Mr Traffic is available to download now on the App Store, with a Google Play release coming soon.
