For the past 10 years, Clash of Clans has been one of the most successful mobile games ever launched, reaching the top 5 downloads and earning the distinction in 2018 of being the highest-grossing app in the App Store. And, now after a decade on top, Clash of Clans is celebrating by adding the biggest update in its history, Clan Capital.

Clan Capital is, as expected for such a cooperative game, a huge new social feature for player clans. Set in a mountainous retreat, Clans can now build their own base together up in the clouds. Everyone in a clan can pitch together to build up their group's base to dwarf their rivals.

Traversing the Capital in a stylish new Air Ship, players will work together to upgrade the various buildings and defences by forging and spending Capital Gold. Starting as a shadow of its former self, Clans will be able to unlock new districts of the capital to build by upgrading their Capital Hall, restoring the ruins to glory.

As to be expected, Clan Capitals aren't all about peace and perfecting the island's Feng Shui. Rival clans will be able to launch attacks and destroy enemy fortresses. When a single clanmate attacks a Capital, the damage will stack and carry over the whole clan's successive attacks, allowing them to work together for victory.

When a clan raids a Capital, they will have to go district by district, working their way through to scale the whole Clan Capital mountain to claim victory. Raiding will earn rewards for players to put towards the building of their own Capital, Home Village and Builder Bases. Raid Medals will also be usable at the new Trader, or to add reinforcements to a player’s Clan Capital.

Clash of Clans is available to download for free on the App Store and Google Play. Supercell has announced the intention for Clan Capitals to serve as a building block for future content, so an early start is advised.
