Bright-based developers Hardball Games has announced their upcoming multiplayer beat-em-up brawler OutRage, coming to mobile next year. Looking like a fancy blend of games such as Streets of Rage and The Warriors, players will team up to duke it out in no-holds-barred street fights.

OutRage takes place in an alternative reality in the near future, and focuses on an underground fighting competition. With the release of a new wellness product, this competition blew up and became world-famous, thanks to the drugs' unintended Rage-enhancing side effects.

Each match of OutRage can consist of up to 32 players, which already sounds like it will be incredibly action-packed and very hectic, especially if you can knock down your own team. As you might expect in a brawler taking place on the streets, there are destructible vehicles and furniture, with no end of items to batter your foes with.

In order to succeed, you will need to master the Rage system, which builds up as you fight. When this resource peaks, you are able to Rage Up, causing you to grow bigger, hit harder, and have the ability to throw bigger objects. In short, you will become the Hulk of the street-fighter scene, throwing cars at your cowering foes. Giant opponents aren't the only hazards you will need to watch out for, with each battleground laden with traps and hazards such as spike pits, falling ceilings, and ledges.

There will be a multitude of modes to take part in, such as Pain Points, which is a free-for-all mode played solo or in teams where you battle for points, presumably by inflicting pain. Domination will see you battle it out to control areas of the map, whereas Survival is a series of three-minute battle royale rounds.

OutRage will launch its early access on PC in Spring 2024, with the full version coming to mobile.
