According to Benjamin Franklin, the only things certain in this universe are death and taxes. However, we gamers know of a third; at some point, every zombie game will collaborate with the great Resident Evil series, and now is the turn of FunPlus’ State of Survival.

Having arrived just in time for Halloween, the first part of this collaboration brings the world of Resident Evil Village to the game, with the indomitable Lady Dimitrescu. GigaCorp has developed a deadly fungus known as RA13, and of course, it got out and ravaged the globe. Sarge and Becca will lead their team of survivors against this new foe, with some backup from Chris Redfield, because apparently, the actual hero of the village was taking a nap.

When announcing the collaboration, FunPlus’ Chief Business Officer, Chris Petrovic, said: "We are thrilled to collaborate with Capcom and seamlessly merge the Resident Evil and State of Survival universes. The incredible synergy between the two franchises makes for a perfect fit, offering fans a truly immersive gaming experience."

Adding to this, the publisher commented: “The Capcom Team is delighted to collaborate with the State of Survival. Chris and Lady Dimitrescu are waiting for you this fall. Enjoy the world of "Resident Evil" through exploration and Settlement decorations unique to this collaboration.”

Throughout this team-up, players will be able to unlock playable heroes from the horror franchised, themed HQ skins, settlement decorations, Avatar frames and more. These iconic Capcom characters will join the evergoing ranks of State of Survival crossover characters, such as Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead, and strangely The Joker from DC.

State of Survival can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. You will want to watch out for the second half of the collaboration that launches December 1st, and brings Ada Wong from Resident Evil 4, along with inarguably the best protagonist in the series, Leon Kennedy. I shall not be accepting any arguments against this.
