Level Infinite and Hotta Studio have released the details of an upcoming collaboration for their open-world MMORPG Tower of Fantasy, and it is a big one. Worldwide smash, mind-blending hit Evangelion will be coming to Aida in 2024, leading fans around the world to once again wonder what the hell that ending was all about.
Wanderers will face a new threat on Aida, but they won’t have to deal with it alone. There will be three legendary characters hopping over from Tokyo-3; Rei Ayanami, Asuka Langley Soryu, and the most passive protagonist of them all, Shinji Ikari. These are all well and good. However, most importantly, Tower of Fantasy will be graced with the Evangelion Test Type-01, also known as a ruddy great mech, and who can ask for more?
Unfortunately, it is safe to assume the Test Type-01 will be relegated to just a collaboration vehicle, but we can dream. As well as these characters and machine, players will also get their hands on exclusive simulacrums, plots, outfits, and customized vehicles, although details are sparse on specifics right now.
Looking a bit closer to the future, the developers have also released details for their more imminent update coming December 21st, Electrifying Winter Rhapsody. The main story is called Domain 9: Extraterrestrial Visitor, and you'll never guess what it's about. Following their excursion to Hendeca County, the people of Domain 9 begin their research into the mysterious Darkform they retrieved from Hendeca, whilst collaborators from outside the Domain pitch in to solve the puzzle of the Omnium reactor at the Infinite Sundial.
During the journey, Wanderers will cross swords with a new boss: Dark Wretch: Forlorn Minister. He was once a rather reputable swordsman known throughout the Domain Guard for his just and good nature. Then, one fateful day, he joined an expedition to Hendeca County under Luo’s command, and tragically fell in battle, becoming the Dark Wretch. Unusually, part of his consciousness merged with this new monstrosity, which might lead to some interesting encounters.
