Teaser Trailer Revealed For Square Enix's JRPG Chaos Rings II

By , on July 21, 2011

We don't need to stress the inherent quality of Square Enix's JRPG franchise Chaos Rings again, do we? Ok, maybe we do then.

Well, the original - Chaos Rings - was selected as the game of 2010 by AppSpy. 'Nuff said about that.

Meanwhile, Its prequel - Chaos Rings Omega - finished 2nd in our rundown of the best games of May 2011.

So far, so impressive.

In the run-up to Chaos Rings Omega's launch, we reported on an advert placed in Japanese game magazine Famitsu by Squeenix, which suggested a direct sequel to Chaos Rings (I) was in the works.

Lo and behold, the role-playing game specialists have only gone and unsheathed a few screenies and a trailer for Chaos Rings II, thus confirming what we already kinda knew.

I, therefore, present to you: Chaos Rings II.

See what you think of it... write that down...and then type it into the comments section below. Groovy.

Wow, it looks pretty cool! Hope it will be even better than Chaos Rings, and Chaos Rings Omega. But what I really want is a new Final Fantasy title.

The Graphics might look better, but I can see the cutscenes aren't very well-polished. The girl's face is, well, pretty much lifeless =,= However, that's not what matters. The gameplay, as we can see ( at least in the trailer) will be probably not really fresh, only 2 characters in a team like the 2 first game, that's no good news to know! >.<

Oops, I mean the first 2 games ^^~

Sure the graphics have been polished and the animations are flashier, but will they improve the gameplay? Or are we going to be playing basically the same game, which is already a bit repetitive in nature, requiring lots of grinding with the same enemies?

I like the series, but I wish they would take the great graphics and good gameplay to a new title instead of pumping out more of the same series. They have got the mobile gaming platform down (IMO) for RPGs, take that and make some of the games that hit the cutting room floor for the consoles, or a new intellectual property. Is it just me?

Any word on N.O.V.A. Elite?

No word on when / if N.O.V.A. Elite is getting ported from Facebook to iOS, I'm afraid.
I have put my Gameloft-shaped feelers out, though...

True, Mirek, but I still thought it worth sharing. A brand new pair of trailers were recently aired by Squeenix, albeit in Japanese. I did consider posting them, too.
