Halloween iOS Bonanza

By , on October 26, 2012

It's the time of year where countries around the world get used to the aroma of pumpkin and spices in the air - not that I'm complaining personally because I love me some seasonal treaties, but it's nice to think we can enjoy more than just food and candy this year.

As such I've collected news on a bunch of great seaonal themed updates and special deals that you can jump in on to provide you with a great distraction for the next couple weeks, or if you want to horde them, to survive the Thanksgiving season.

Mikey Shorts Halloween - A Free Seasonal Taster

Instead of simply changing the aesthetics of their smash hit game Mikey Shorts, Beaver Tap Games have opted to go one better, creating an entirely separate App to showcase just how great the game is. Featuring four stages with new themes and seasonal 'hats' that can be unlocked immediately, it's a great way to get a feel for the game before plunging in.

Dark Meadow On Sale - Ends 31st October

What could be better than enjoying the spooky season with a game that's more than a little deranged in its setting. Dark Meadow is a fantastic swipe'em-up in the vein of games like Infinity Blade, but with a horrific twist - you're stuck in a warped and monster filled asylum, guided only by the demented voice of someone who claims to be stuck in a safe portion of the building.

You can pick up the game from now until October 31st for only US$2.99 - that's an absolute steal for a game we pegged at 4/5 when it first came out!

Ski Safari Halloween Theme Now Available

This news is likely to get my partner super-excited as she can't put down Ski Safari, but for the lowly in-game cost of 100 coins (a trivial amount to earn) you'll be able to purchase a Halloween-themed slope, complete with unique features to find (and possibly avoid).

Earn To Die - Brand New Challenges Celebrate The Season And Test Your Skill

One complaint levvied at NotDoppler's fantastic adaption of Earn To Die for the iOS platform was that it was 'too easy' - then agains they're likely also those who hadn't bothered to complete the game and compete globally for high-scores. At any rate the game managed to get our motors running with a score of 4/5, and things are only getting better with their free Halloween update.

Players will now find 190 pumpkins to smash their way through. Most will be in hard-to-reach places that will test your skill as a driver, requiring vehicle customization and a bit of luck to collect.
