At the stroke of midnight, classic Games Workshop tabletop game Warhammer Quest will be reborn on the App Store.

Rodeo Games, the folks behind turn-based shooter Hunters 2, have taken it upon themselves to translate the original cardboard adventure game into a touchscreen-friendly iPhone and iPad title.

You take control of a small party of warriors, inculding an Dwarf Ironbreaker, an Elf Waywatcher, and a Grey Wizard. It's up to you to guide these characters through a series of perilous dungeons, killing orcs and other nasties as you go.

Having played a little Warhammer Quest, we can say that the emphasis here is definitely on tactics. Squad management is priority, and it's important to plan each move carefully to exploit the varied strengths your characters.

If you fancy trying a nostalgia-laced RPG with a meaty campaign (the single-player campaign is estimated at 25 hours), then you can purchase Warhammer Quest for $4.99 from midnight tonight.

If you're on the fence, check out the gameplay video below for an overview of the control system.
