Space Qube is out on the App Store today. Imagine Space Invaders, if you could design your own spacecraft in a voxel editor. Not sure what I'm talking about? This trailer should explain further:

Listen to that catchy music! While the gameplay seems to be your standard space shoot-'em-up fare, the ability to create your own ship (well... really create whatever you like), and have the amount of voxels used inversely balance the armour and speed of your vessel is a great idea. Those that wish to give the game a try should follow the link below.

I've loved this game since I found it two days ago! I'm a lover of Galaga and Space Invaders, so this comes off as a modern 3D renditioned spin-off of the two, with the ability create your own ship from scratch! (I've built a few ships already, from the Star Wars universe-- see if you can find my ships, under the name "Feilix". :3 ).

I've been having a lot of fun with this game, and the IAPs are entirely optional, if really needed at all (which I don't think they are). Within three waves, I earn about 6,000-7,500 Qubes. By the end of wave 13, the total is around 60,000-83,000! The game is extremely generous (especially in the fact that each Qube is worth 2, and the bought power-up to DOUBLE that, using Qubes to buy instead of real money, gives you 4 Qubes per Qube you pick up!) and all of the upgrades you can buy are paid for with in-game currency, instead of stupid special gems that you only get through IAP!

I, personally, give this game a 4/5. It's a fantastic game, but it needs some more work. There are some very minor issues, and suggestions to be made for improving gameplay and customization of ships. Regardless, it's a great game that doesn't take much space at all (45.6 MB on my iPad2)!

I was reluctant to buy this because of all the in-app purchases available. But it was 99c and it looked good enough to try out. I have to say that I am very pleased with the purchase. It's like Orborun's in-app purchases, you really don't need them at all since you're rewarded enough with Qubes(the in game currency) for playing the game. Of course the in-app purchases would help, but if you don't like in-app purchases, you're okay with this game. I sound like an ad, but I think it's a good idea to get this game while it's 99c.
