Retro platformer Super Obstacle Boy leaps onto iPhone and iPad

By , on February 13, 2014

It doesn't matter if you were born in the '80s or the naughties, Super Obstacle Boy's pixel-art aesthetic will prove instantly familiar.

This retro platformer's old-school ethos is not limited to its appearance, though. Instead of a nice, safe tutorial and a few levels of hand-holding, players will be treated to 128 punishing levels filled with spikes, pits, and a host of other blocky dangers.

The goal is simple – don't die, reach the end of the stage, and eventually claim back Rescue Girl who has been captured by Dr. Negative.

If you jump over to the App Store now you can grab Super Obstacle Boy for just £1.99 / $2.99. However, if you download it and can't get past the first level, don't say we didn't warn you.
