Full Review

'No, Human' by vol-2 has been getting a lot of attention lately and not without good reason as it's just more fun than it seems to have any right to be.

Despite being extremely quick to finish the game's charm lies in the quick-fire gameplay that is punctuated now and then by moments that make you laugh, keeping you invested in what happens right through to the end. No, Human is a basic physics puzzler where you need to fling 'fireballs' in order to rid the universe of humans who have, in their own hubris, decided to conquer the universe in turn.

It's an old cliche for sci-fi's and it's great to see the concept turned back by a personified 'universe' that essentially says, 'Oh yeah? We'll see about that'. Firing your asteroids is also blissfully simple, with players only needing to drag their finger in the direction they require and letting go when they reach the 'power' they desire. This is also one of the few times I've seen a developer pull off a cartoonish 3D style that looks so clean and playing the game on a Retina display or iPad just looks fantastic.

Even though finishing the game is fairly simple players can compete for high-scores by replaying levels to boost their final score. It's not much in the way of replayability, but 'No, Human' is a game worth grabbing for the quips and clever interludes that keep a smile on your face for one sweet hour.
