Puzzle games are one of the most successful genres on the app store. Many of them are unique and well made, and that's good, cause it takes an interesting idea to stand out from the crowd. Colorbind is an interesting idea where you have to fold strips of paper to cover all the dots of the same colour on the screen.
Control is taken care by the touch and drag of your finger. You guide the paper along the screen, changing direction to fold it ninety degrees. To undo the paper trail, simply drag in reverse. The game starts off very easy but soon become a brain buster as other coloured paper is introduced. Folding the paper flips it over and other colours can only travel under and over each other where appropriate.
The game is quite simple visually, but the paper is nicely textured. Sound is very minimal, but you can use your ipod to add some flair. The game contains eighty four levels across three difficulties plus achievements to keep things interesting.
Colorbind is a relaxing, yet addictive puzzle games. It may seem overly simple, but the difficulty starts ramping up around level eight, and then this reviewer was hooked. This is a game for puzzle fans, and anybody looking for a relaxing challenge.
