Fieldrunners is a tower defence game with a difference. Your goal is to place defence towers along a battlefield in order to stop the various enemies as they advance towards your base of operations. However, the way in which you place towers and plan your defence is completely up to you.

The controls are incredibly simple. Select a tower of your choice and drag it onto the battlefield. You can also block your enemy’s path, forcing them to go around your towers. This is where fieldrunners throws a twist on other tower defence games, as you are free to create a deadly labyrinth that your enemies MUST follow.

The visuals are incredibly detailed, and the vibrant colours lighten the gameplay and endless killing of enemies. The top down view of the game map makes tower placement easier, and adds to the chaos of war once enemies begin attacking from multiple directions. The sound effects are cute and tie into the bright, comic visuals. This is a single player game, but there are options to post your highscore online.

Fieldrunners offers players varying difficulties and enough of a challenge to keep you interested, with room to control the battlefield and manipulate the enemy soldier's paths leaving you with a lasting impression and an unquenchable thirst to get back into the line of fire.
