‘IEscaper! - Escape from the Ninja's Lair’ is a puzzle game that has players trapped inside a Ninja’s Lair and solving puzzles in order to escape. As the player progresses through the different levels, the puzzles get harder and traps that can kill the player become part of this deadly game.

You control your character by tapping the screen in order to move and look around the room, reveal clues or solve puzzles. Items can be collected and stored in your inventory for use with another puzzle, or combined to make new items. Some other puzzles require you to shake the iPhone in order to solve them, adding another ‘hands on’ approach to the game.

The visuals for this game are amazing, everything from the cutscenes to the in game rooms themselves are presented in beautiful 3D. The sound is great, every item has a sound effect and the windy atmosphere provides a spooky mood to the game. This is a single player puzzle game, so there are no leaderboards or online play, but this is not a big issue.

Escape games have developed a large online flash game following and it’s good to see this genre make its way to the iPhone. The game looks and sounds beautiful and the level design and puzzles make escape quite difficult without being impossible. The only problem with ‘IEscaper! – Escape From The Ninja’s Lair’ is once you finish it, you’re limited in replayablity. But besides that, this is an addictive and overall great gaming experience.
