It's stating the obvious, but puzzle games are often hard to wrap your head around. Past the initial stages you're left spending more time staring at a screen than you are actually playing the game. Birdie In Trouble by Klik! Games encourages players to a bit of trial and error as you send your little chick back home, which is at least more exciting than waiting for the cogs to shift in your brain.
Jumping in to the 75 available levels couldn't be easier, with players invited to touch the screen to launch their birdie towards the available leafy platforms. Your goal is to clear the leaves before finally landing on the exit by finding using the correct sequence of moves. Each puzzle seems to have a unique solution, so trial and error is encouraged to work out the more complex puzzles.
Birdie uses a very basic cartoonish style with minimalistic animations that's super-cute and safe for all ages. The music is lighthearted and there are four tracks to listen to as you play, giving you at least some variation to make up for the lack of iTunes background support. One frustrating problem is the lack of a level select, which means you'll have to finish the game before giving anyone else a try 'less they accidentally delete your progress.
The lack of some features will probably mean that you'll put it down after getting stuck on the more difficult puzzles, but Birdie In Trouble is still a simple, enjoyable puzzler that will keep you occupied for some time.
