VERDICT

Landing one or two spacecraft is easy enough, but you'll soon realise you've left the other three to four craft under your care to a deadly fate. Frustrating for some and to others a rewarding challenge. You decide!

Flight Control had you landing planes safely, DrawRace had you competing for first place and now Galaxy Control by TopLineSoft Systems follows the line-drawing arcade style to slowly drift spacecraft to their home planets.

Drawing lines from each spacecraft to their home planet is no easy task as you attempt to avoid other planets, other crafts and the occasional drifting asteroid. This is further complicated by the fact that multiple spacecrafts will appear at the same time leading to a finger twisting attempt to quickly (and accurately) draw paths. Thankfully this aspect is amazingly responsive and rarely the cause for frustration.

However managing all the above can become quickly overwhelming and even after mastering the basics it can be a nightmare to understand what all of your squiggles mean. Each craft is color coded for the appropriate planet and paths for incoming asteroids are easy enough to follow, but warnings for collisions are often far too late for any significant change to be made in time and likely ending the game immediately.

Galaxy Control is immensely fun when you manage to juggle each spacecraft successfully while avoiding collisions, but the rare successful game can be easily marred by the failures that surround them. Those who love great challenges and path drawing games will get a kick out of this, but it might be worth sticking to other examples for anyone else.
