New slots apps are conquering iOS devices. Playing them on your device might be something you would do with excitement, or, on the other hand, you wouldn't even consider downloading it.
Whatever your personal choice is, games developer Gamesys hope that their product - Jackpotjoy Slots - will tempt you to give it a go!
We spoke to James Gibson, Marketing Manager at Gamesys. He explains how the game attempts to suit a wide range of different skill levels, what problems came up when designing the app, and what the future holds for Jackpotjoy Slots.
Considering that there are already quite a few slots apps like that on the market, what makes this particular one stand out? "Our Jackpotjoy Slots offers a far better quality of slot machine than you find in other slots games in the App Store," James explains, "on top of that, our free slots games are varied and unique and that is why our App Store ratings have been so great to date."
Keeping a fundamentally simple idea such as a slot game fresh is hard, but Gibson claims that Jackpotjoy Slots manages to pull it off. "We offer a lot of different themes - fairytales, mystical stories, the Wild West or a very modern mechanical layout and can therefore cover everyone's personal taste," he says.
"Everyone can find something they like, and I think that makes our app so special. Also we offer a lot very generous bonuses so players will always have some coins available to keep playing and having a great time."
Jackpotjoy Slots has the big advantage over its slot games competitors in that it already has a solid fan base, thanks to it being available to play online and over the social network Facebook. James says that the iOS version will match up to the latter of those versions soon as well.
"When it comes to slots, the Facebook version contains many more as we are still in the process of porting slots over to iOS," he explains, "in terms of the game play itself there is absolutely no difference in the experience whatsoever - it's equally great."
However the game developers encountered some obstacles while creating the game. "Our main challenge was making the slot games work on the size of an iPhone screen size," James reveals. "We had to adapt slightly the graphics in order to achieve this. The other big challenge was to get the app and the slots ready to get it approved and in the App Store in the timescale that has been laid out."
The game may fit onto a small screen then, but there was a lot of effort in making sure that every type of player feels welcome playing it. "Already experienced users are able to play their favourite Jackpotjoy slots," James says, "while for new users, they will be guided through their first few spins on our first slot Tiki Island. Gradually and step by step new players will get familiar with the game."
In terms of the app reaching other mobile platforms such as Android, James tells us ports are planned. "Eventually we will but for now our focus is primarily on porting all the content from Facebook over to iOS," he says, "we always keep our eyes on the market to provide the best gaming entertainment."
