For years discerning gaming journalists and fans alike have prophesied the tragic death of a formerly untouchable genre - one that we all grew up with and share our finest gaming memories with.

That's right, the JRPG, which is apparently dead, buried, and almost forgotten.

Well, it turns out it isn't dead - it's just hiding on Android, where it will be re-emerging in 2015. Check out the trailers below for video evidence of this sleeping giant.

The analogy between golf and rpg used in the trailer is so stupid that makes it kind of endearing when he delivers it in a gentle tone.

Is it really that hard to show "gamplay" in a trailer? 4 out of the 6 show nothing about how the game will actually look and play. That just seems annoying to me.

I think a lot of JRPG companies get worried that their gameplay will look very similar to everyone elses, so they try to show cutscenes to get across the story and design a bit better. Might be wrong, but I reckon that's right.

Which is funny, because I'm usually hoping to see some footage of a game looking much like most JRPGs so I know that I'll want to play it. But if they don't look or play like most FF games, then I might be less interested. Hahaha
